Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother are both authors and editors. Ryder is a self-described Jewish, is descended from Ryder's Jewish father. She has a younger brother Uria and two half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder's parents relocated her and their children in Mendocino County California when Ryder was seven years old. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious book reader because there was no television. When she turned 12 Ryder was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In 1986 she was offered her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder was bullied in high school. She hoped acting might change the situation. Unfortunately, that did not occur. But that didn't stop her pursuing dreams. Her breakthrough came in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder had a successful role in various films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
